Duke CS Alumni Speakers
A tenured associate professor of Computer Science at Harvey Mudd College, Beth received her B.S. in Computer Science from Duke University in 2007. She then pursued graduate study at the University of California, Berkeley, where she received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science in 2010 and 2014, respectively. Her research involves leveraging human intelligence via crowdsourcing to create hybrid human/machine query processing systems.
Co-founder and Managing Partner at Paradigm, previously Fred co-founded Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency company in the US, and held the role of President from 2012 to 2017. Fred purchased his first Bitcoin in 2011 and has been an angel investor in some of the space’s most formative companies. Fred holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Economics with honors and departmental distinction from Duke University.
